Glenn R. Shorts

Glenn R. Shorts, 70, of Meadville, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born January 28, 1938 in Meadville, a son of the late Leroy P. and Mildred H. Smith Shorts.

He was employed in the bottling department at the former Meadville Coca Cola Bottling plant and was also self-employed doing various odd jobs.  He was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Betty Bourgeois of Meadville and Flossie Powell of Blooming Valley; his longtime companion, Ruth Cray of Cambridge Springs; and nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Robert and Junior Shorts, an infant brother, Alfred Shorts and a sister, Oletha Harouff.

Calling hour will be Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where the funeral and committal service will follow at 2:30 p.m.

Interment will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
