Gordon N. Scouten, 76, of Stoneboro, PA, passed away at home on January 4,
2025. Gordon was born to the late Neil Scouten and Bonita Wetherbee on June 20,
1948. Gordon graduated from Corry High School in 1966. Shortly after, he went
with friends to Los Angeles and worked as a taxicab driver before working as an
assembler at MacDonald Douglas for two years. He then returned home,
becoming a Welder for Joy Manufacturing. He retired from there after over thirty
years of dedicated work.
Gordon enjoyed the roar of an engine. From riding motorcycles to the fascination
of trains, Gordon loved the wind in his hair. He would often find his passion in
collecting and firing guns. He was a member of the Spartanburg Sportsman’s Club.
He also held a special place in his heart for his feline friends.
Gordon is survived by his children; Crispin Curtis, Rob Scouten, and Amy
Scouten. He also leaves behind a granddaughter, Jordan Curtis, and a great-
grandson, Elliot Curtis, to cherish his memory. Gordon’s brother, Gilbert Scouten,
as well as Gilbert’s children; Rebecca Scouten, Scott Scouten, Wendy Short, and
Michelle Polach, mourn the loss of their brother and uncle. Gordon was also very
close to his cousin-in-law, Karen Johnson, and several other cousins, nieces, and
nephews.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents and his aunt, Sandy Lamendola, as well
as his cousin Ricky Johnson.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home &
Crematory Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, PA, 16153. There will be no services
at this time.
