H. Clare Hunter

H. Clare Hunter, 88, formerly of Saegertown, died Wednesday, January 13, 1999 at Wesbury United Methodist Community following a period of declining health.

He was born in Guys Mills, August 1, 1910, a son of Clifford and Anna Cooper Hunter.  He married Marian Gourley, November 4, 1939 and she preceded him in death November 23, 1988.

He was a dairy farmer and also worked for 15 years in the Maintenance and Security Departments of Allegheny College, drove a school bus for 17 years and worked part-time as a mailman.  He was a 1929 graduate of Randolph High School, 25 year member of the Randolph Grange and he was a member of the Dairyman's Cooperative Assn.  He also enjoyed his grandchildren very much.

Survivors include a son, Dale C. Hunter (Wanda) of Saegertown; a brother, David Hunter of Cleveland, OH; two grandchildren, Renee Boyd and Christopher Hunter; a great-granddaughter, Kaelyn Boyd and two nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
