H. Neal Britton

H. Neal Britton, 86, formerly of Pettis Rd., Meadville and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, died there, Friday, July 02, 2004.

He was born in Guys Mills, August 12, 1917 a son of Rex and Natalee Danner Britton.  He married Violet Plattner February 6, 1943 and she preceded him in death April 1, 1984.

He worked for 43 years for Kebert Construction Co. and retired as an equipment operator, known as one of the best bulldozer operators in the area.  He was of the Protestant faith, a member of International Operating Engineers Union and he enjoyed farming.

Survivors, include two sons, Neal E. Britton and his wife Debra of Chapmanville and Douglas L. Britton and his wife Patricia of Meadville; two daughters, Sherry Lynn Britton of Titusville and Nancy Fowler and her husband Kenton of Meadville; two sisters, Pauline Ybarra of Houston, TX and Winifred Williams of Santa Ana, CA; one brother, Glenn Britton and his wife Letha of Cambridge Springs; five grandchildren, Kati, Kelsey, Rachel & Carolyn Britton and Jodi Fowler and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Bus, Bill, Paul and Bob Britton and three sisters, Audrey, Helen and Bess Ann.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Gerald Walton, of Lyona Bible Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
