Hallie Stafford

August 21, 1907 — February 9, 2002

Hallie Stafford, 94, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, died there Saturday, February 9, 2002 following a period of declining health.

She was born August 21, 1907 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Lewis and Myrtle Stewart Hibbard.  She married Myron A. (Butch) Stafford August 30, 1926 and he preceded her in death February 11, 1976.

She worked for many years as the office assistant to Dr. Rudolph Wietzel and previously worked as a clerk at Woolworth’s and also Reamer’s Jewelry Store.  She was a charter member of the Con-Yot Kickers Square Dance Club, past member of the YWCA Gallivanters, and enjoyed making dolls.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a son, Paul L. Stafford and his wife Margo of Wooster, OH; three grandchildren, Alan and Thomas Stafford and Kathy Horwath; one great-grandson; one sister, Mrs. Hap (Grace) Rohrer; and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Hibbard.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. David R. Hosick, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
