Harold S. Nearpass

Harold S. Nearpass, 78, of Conneautville, formerly of Meadville, died Sunday, October 5, 1969 at City Hospital, where he had been a patient one month, after an illness of three months.

He was born August 16, 1891 at Port Jervis, NY, a son of Egbert and Jane Bennett Nearpass.

He married Martha Webb May 12, 1918.  He was employed by the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad for 39 years where he was an inspector for forest productions.  He retired in 1958.

He was a member of Conneautville Baptist Church, an honorary church deacon; served in the infantry in World War I and was a member of Charles N. Stafford American Legion Post.

Surviving, besides his widow, are a son, H. Stuart of Tonawanda, NY; a sister, Miss Lora of White Plains, NY and three grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
