Harold Waid

Harold Waid, 73, of Meadville, former owner/operator of Harold's Clothing Store, North Street, died at City Hospital Tuesday, March 23, 1982, after a 14-month illness.

He was born in Meadville September 16, 1908, a son of Ernest and Anna Mary Hawley Waid.  He married Lila Smith September 14, 1929.

Mr. Waid was owner/operator of Harold's for 13 years, retiring in 1971 when he sold the business.  Prior to that he worked as a millwright for Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Meadville for several years, and previously worked for American Viscose, now Avtex Fibers Inc.

Mr. Waid was a member of Masonic Lodge 408 and of New Castle Consistory.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Anna) Bradshaw of Meadville; a son, William E. Waid of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Harry (Margaret) Frye of Meadville; two brothers, Homer of Meadville and Frank of Meadville; five grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes and two brothers, William and Ward.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
