Harriet M. Brown

Harriet M. Brown, 96, of Wesbury, died Thursday, September 3, 1998 following a period of declining health.

She was born March 3, 1902 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Herbert and Lydia Braymer Brown.  Miss Brown was a granddaughter of Whitney and Ida Braymer by whom she was raised.

Miss Brown was a 1924 graduate of Allegheny College with a bachelors degree in Education and received a Masters degree in Education from Columbia Univ.  She retired in 1967 from the Meadville School District after 38 years of service.  She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and was affiliated with the Republican Party.

She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a niece, Adele Niblack of St. Louis, MO; a nephew, George (Larry) Riddle of Princeton, NJ; and several cousins, including Lawrence Williams and Joyce Evans, both of Dayton, OH; and Harriet Davis of Meadville.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Brown Riddle.

Service were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
