Harry L. Rathbun, 81, of Meadville, died Wednesday, June 14, 1978, at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, where he had been a patient for 10 days.
A son of Walter and Emma Collins Rathbun, he was born October 19, 1896, in Hopkinton, RI. He married Margaret Kurz December 26, 1920. A carpenter, he worked for various contractors in the area of Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island, NY, before retiring to Meadville 13 years ago. He attended Blooming Valley United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the US Navy.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Harry R. Rathbun of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Malva Vierheller of Mentone, CA; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
