Harry M. Clawson, 75, of Meadville, died Monday, February 16, 1998 at the Crawford County Care Center following an extended illness.
He was born in Moisertown on October 9, 1922, a son of the late Earl H. and Stella E. Stone Clawson. He married Anna Jane Hazen March 23, 1946. She survives.
Mr. Clawson worked as a semi-truck driver for 12 years and at the same time was also a mechanic for Ferry Trcuking of Saegertown. He subsequently had worked in the maintenance departments at GTI and SMC, both of Saegertown.
He served in the US Army during World War II and was a former member of Meadville Elks Lodge #219 and Saegertown Volunteer Fire Department. He also enjoyed camping.
He was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: two sons, Mr. Terry (Denise) Clawson of Saegertown and Mr. David (Peggyjo) Clawson of Windsor, VA; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Kathleen) Higham of Meadville; a sister, Ruth E. Gosnell of Linesville; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
