Helen L. Knight

March 14, 1907 — May 1, 1980

Miss Helen L. Knight, 73, of Meadville, died at home Thursday, May 1, 1980, after a sudden illness.

She was born in Meadville on March 14, 1907, a daughter of William and Lulu Blair Knight.

She was last employed as a librarian with Conneaut Lake Public Schools and also worked in the capacity with Meadville schools.  She first worked as a librarian in Fifth Avenue Public Library in New York City.

Miss Knight was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the woman's association of the church.  She attended Allegheny College and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.  She was a graduate of Skidmore College and also attended Western Reserve University and Columbia University.

She held membership with Meadville Woman's Club, Ladies Advisory Committee of City Hospital and with Gallivanters Club of the Young Women's Christian Assn.  She also was a member of Pennsylvania Retired Public School Employees Assn. and American Assn. of Retired Persons.

She is survived by cousins, include Mrs. Frederick (Dorothy) Hetner of Greensburg.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
