Henry E. Styer

Henry E. Styer, 82, of Union Township, Meadville, died at home, Monday, November 7, 1983, after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Hayfield Township, November 28, 1900, a son of John and Josephine Cropp Styer.  He was married June 1, 1926, to A. Grace Rohleder, who survives.

He was self-employed for many years as a farmer and a sawmill operator in Union Township.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.  He was a member of Cochranton Lodge IOOF, Cochranton Grange, Pennsylvania Farmers Assn., and Erie-Crawford State Police.  For 24 years he served as justice of the peace in Union Township.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Dewey E. Styer of Meadville; three sisters, Mrs. Ervine (Louise) Lockridge of Deerfield, VA, Mrs. William (Mary) Schlacter of Meadville and Mrs. Ira (Ruth) Chambers of Meadville; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and brother.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Huber Cemetery, Union Township.
