Hilda E. Hays

Mrs. Hilda E. Hays, 52, of Vernon Township, widow of George L. Hays, Sr., died early Tuesday morning at City Hospital following several weeks illness.

Since her husband's death two years ago, Mrs. Hays had continued operation of a motel on Route 19.  She had spent her early life in Washington and Allegheny counties and moved to Vernon Township 11 years ago.

She was a member of the Meadville Chamber of Commerce and the PA Motel Assn.

Surviving are her son, George L. Jr., who had been associated with her in the operation of the motel and service station, three grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Ella MacFarlane of Clairton and Mrs. Edward Hays of Pittsburgh.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Round Hill Cemetery.
