Howard F. Thompson
August 2, 1899 — November 1, 1929
Howard F. Thompson, 82, of Meadville at home Thursday, December 10, 1981, after a brief illness.
He was born at Penfield, Clearfield County, August 2, 1899, a son of James and Victoria Hooven Thompson. He married Helen Williams November 1, 1929.
Mr. Thompson retired in 1964 as a refrigeration engineer with the former Viscose Corp., now Avtex Fibers, Inc., after 36 years of employment. He attended Stone United Methodist Church and was a member of Crawford Masonic Lodge 234 and of Scottish Rite Bodies of New Castle.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Mary Jo) Smock of Meadville; a son, Glen L. Thompson of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Emma) Wilhelm of New Oxford; a brother, Clyde of Mitchell, SD; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and a grandchild, Kelly Jo.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
