Howard John Egger

Howard John Egger, 83, of Sandy Lake, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown.

Howard was born in St. Mary’s on March 29, 1939 to the late Howard J. and Ella Mae (Myers) Egger.

After high school Howard went on to work for Davey Tree Service, Wolf’s Head Oil, Co., Pennzoil and then the Pennsylvania Fish Commission.  He volunteered at Yellowstone National Park for 4 summers in a row.

Howard loved the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, especially archery, fishing, and going to hunting camp.  He also enjoyed karate, bowling and going to the fitness center.

He was a member Lake Myrtle Lodge #316 in Sandy Lake and the New Castle Consistory.  Howard was a member and attended New Lebanon Community Church.

He married his beloved wife, Betty P. “Pat” (Reynolds) Egger, on April 11, 1959, she survives at home.

In addition to his wife, Howard is survived by his children, Joyce (Keith) Engstrom, of New Lebanon, Michael (Karen) Egger, of Sandy Lake and Jeff (Marty) Egger, of Adamsville; Grandchildren: Jarret (Leanna) Engstrom, Timothy (Sheri) Egger, Gregory (Samantha) Egger, Cheyenne (Mark) Prokopovich, Colton Egger, Jeremy Egger, Crystal Stiver, Adam King, Megan King, Robert King, and Araden King; Great-Grandchildren: Lillian, Isabella, Anastasia, Westyn and Karson; and close cousins, James, Bob and Raymond Egger, as well as numerous other cousins.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents and his Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Charles and Edna Reynolds.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Stoneboro.

A Memorial Service will take place on Monday, November 21stat New Lebanon Community Church where family and friends are welcome from 3-4 PM, with a Masonic Service taking place at 4:00 PM.  A Memorial Service will follow with Rev. Virginia LaVan-Gadsby officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial’s in Howard’s name can be made to the New Lebanon Community Church.
