Ida Mae Wright, the day she turned 95, on August 11, 2026, became an Angel, surrounded by her family. Ida Mae was born on August 11, 1931 to the late Charles and Ida Musetta (Davidson) Boylan in Steubenville, OH. She was a graduate of Grove City High School and worked for many years as the Lakeview School Board Secretary. She married her beloved husband: Kenneth A. Wright, on Sept 28, 1951, he preceded her in death on May 30, 2017.
Ida Mae was a longtime member of the Lakeview Area Community Church where she was very involved over her years in the United Methodist Women, Church Choir, quilting group, head of funeral dinners, Church Board Secretary, and Missions Committee Treasurer.
Ida Mae also served as a Sandy Lake Twp Auditor and sat on the Board of Elections. She worked in the Ibbs Building at the Great Stoneboro Fair, and loved camping at Renfro Valley, KY, Opryland, TN, and LaBelle Woods, FL, and was a member of the Good Sams Camping Club. Ida Mae also enjoyed quilting, cross stitching, embroidery, and crochet. She enjoyed canning, and made the best homemade jelly and orange cookies. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.
Ida Mae is survived by her children: Thomas (Tamie) Wright of Sandy Lake; Kathryn (Randy) Hoffman of Mercer; Steven (Debbie) Wright of Stoneboro; and Cynthia (James) Brown of Stoneboro, 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, brother James Paul (Shirley) Boylan and sister-in-law Emilie Boylan.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ida Mae was preceded in death by her son: William, grandchildren: Lori Beth and Shane, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose And Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. Stoneboro & Sandy Lake.
Visitation will take place at the Lakeview Area Community Church, 1472 School Road, Sandy Lake, from 12 – 3 pm on Saturday, August 15. A funeral service will follow visitation at 3 pm at the church with Pastor Janet Pratt, officiating.
Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.
