Iva Mae Daniels

February 19, 1895 — July 30, 1991

Iva Mae Daniels, 96, a three-year resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, the first woman treasurer of Forst County, died Tuesday, July 30, 1991, at Wesbury.

She as born in Stickney, McKean County, February 19, 1895, a daughter of James E. and Lillian Dell Elderkin Daniels.

She was a long-time resident of Tionesta, where she was elected the first woman treasurer of Forest County, and subsequently was elected prothonotary, recorder of deeds, register of wills and clerk of courts.  She was active in the Methodist Church in Tionesta, where she served as organist for many years.  She was active in Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution.  She lived in Meadville for many years, where she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a sister, Myrtle D. Dennig of Wesbury; four nephews, Daniel J., Robert and Thomas Leech, all of Meadville and James Daniels of Longview, TX; and a niece, Helen Scalisa of Erie.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Daniels Leech and a brother, Clyde Daniels.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Excelsior Cemetery, Eldred Township, Warren County.
