James E. Hofius

James E. Hofius, 83, died Friday evening at his home in Meadville, following a several months' illness.

Born in Mercer County, he had lived the past 36 years in Meadville and vicinity, and was last employed by the American Viscose Corp.  He was a member of Grace Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class of that church.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. T. W. Johnston of Hayfield Township; one son, John Hofius of Meadville; a brother, Burton W. Hofius of Wesleyville; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Coover of Erie; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Denny Cemetery.
