Jane Allen Pitzer

Jane Allen Pitzer, 73, of 483 North St., Meadville, died Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born August 9, 1934 in Earlham, Iowa, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Virginia Kelly Allen.

She was a 1952 graduate of Meadville High School and worked for over 15 years as a transcriptionist in the Radiology Dept. of Meadville Medical Center.  She previously worked for 8 years as office manager for Dr. Michael Mercatoris.

She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a niece, Barbara Rohl of Eaton, OH; a nephew, Donald Schlosser of Jacksonville, FL; and many dear friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Schlosser.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A funeral and committal service will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Gerald Murphy, retired United Methodist Clergyman officiating.

Interment will be in Spring Cemetery, Springboro.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
