Janice was born December 30, 1933, in Black Ash, Pennsylvania, to Floyd E. and Exie M. (Hollabaugh) Brown. She was a 1952 graduate of Randolph High School. She was employed as a library aide at Oakview Elementary School (Stoneboro, PA) and retired in 1996. She was a long-time member of the Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church and always volunteered for church events. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Sandy Lake Volunteer Fire Co. Many days you would find her walking in Sandy Lake and around Lake Wilhelm. She also took great pride in her vegetable garden and planted flowers around her home. She was an avid reader. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards and always had a word search on-hand.

She married Robert Henry "Bob" Kimmel on Sept. 3, 1955, and he preceded her in death August 20, 2008. Surviving family members are her daughter, Robin Dale and husband Stephen of Carlton, PA and one granddaughter, Melissa Dale and partner Brandon Davis of Hamburg, PA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Ruth Baringer. For the last 5 years she lived at Wesbury’s Cribbs Center in Meadville, PA. During her time at Wesbury she made new friendships and enjoyed partaking in the many activities offered. She especially enjoyed playing cards, usually 500, and was always up for a game of bingo.
