Jerome P. (Jerry) Hannaford, 69, of Linesville, died Thursday, May 11, 2006, at Meadville Medical Center after a year-and-a-half battle with cancer. He was born in Cleveland, OH, May 26, 1936, the son of Jerome and Constance Willis Sirota and was adopted by his stepfather, Ernest Hannaford. He married Shirley A. Schweter May 9, 1955, at St. Peter's Church, Conneautville. He was a member of St. Peters's Church, Conneautville. He was self-employed as a gravedigger and caretaker of Linesville Cemetery for 35 years and Evergreen Cemetery for nine years. For many years, he raised horses and enjoyed taking them to the Crawford County Fair with his family. His friends called him Jerry. He loved his family and had a passion for gardening, golf, bluegrass music and the healing of herbs. In addition to his wife, Shirley of 51 years, he is survived by two sons, Raymond Hannaford (Charlene) of Carlton and Ronald Hannaford (Mercedes) of Madrid, Spain; two daughters, Marylou Hannahford (Melvin (Chip) Kirkwood) of Linesville and Karen Culver (Gary) of Meadville; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Lisa, Rebecca, Joshua, Wendy, Heather, Ashley and Kevin and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Amelia (Amy Hannaford) Gibson and her husband, John Francis Gibson of Linesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather and a daughter, Darla Hannaford Hunter. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery. Services Past Services
