Jessie B. Stainbrook

May 12, 1930 — February 27, 2022

Jessie B. Stainbrook, 91, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She was born May 12, 1930 in Meadville, a daughter of Kenneth G. and Althea M. Emmel Burns.  She married Wayne A. Stainbrook December 25, 1948 and he preceded her in death January 1, 2018.

Jessie was a 1948 graduate of Saegertown High School.  She farmed with her husband as a partner of Stain-Brook Farms until their retirement in 1994.  Jessie was a founding member of the Crawford County Dairy Princess committee.  She was a very strong supporter of her husband’s involvements in various agricultural organizations and did what was needed to run the family farm.  Most important to her were family and family events.  Her house and the farm were where family gathered.  Following retirement, Jessie and Wayne enjoyed traveling, visiting all but of few of the 48 contiguous states.  She tended her yard and garden until the last three months of her life.  Jessie was loved by all that knew her.  She cared for so many and never asked for help for herself.

Survivors include four sons, Dan Stainbrook (Pat) of Snohomish, WA, Lyle Stainbrook (Mary) of Venango, Bruce Stainbrook (Cindie) of Meadville, and Ted Stainbrook (Beverly) of Cambridge Springs; two sisters, Donna Dillaman of Conneautville and Pat Orris of Waterford; nine grandchildren, Eric, Jay, Martin, Kip, Corey, Craig, David, and Vincent Stainbrook and Krysti Nageotte; fifteen great-grandchildren, Kaito, Simon, Benjamin, Sebastian, Greyson, Everett, Eliza, Olivia, Sicily, Scarlett, Sage, Sienna, and Rikuto Stainbrook and J.P. and Micah Nageotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Dale Stainbrook; two sisters, Gene Perry and Dorothy Telliho; and two brothers, K. Gerald Burns and John Burns.

Calling hours will be Thursday, March 3rd from 4-7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the wearing of masks is requested.

The funeral service will be Friday, March 4th at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Alice McClymonds, Pastor of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Saegertown Cemetery.
