John A. Deissler

John A. Deissler, 50, of Meadville, died Wednesday, March 7, 1990, at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, following a brief illness.

Mr. Deissler was born in Meadville, November 11, 1939, a son of Virgil and Ada Lang Deissler.  He married Wilma Lemmerman April 21, 1963.  She survives.

He was a partner in JA Deissler & Son, a glass, paint and wallpaper supply company, with his father since 1965.  He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and was a church elder, chairman of its property committee and treasurer of its building fund.  He also was a former superintendent of the church's Sunday School.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge 408, Meadville; Erie Consistory; Zem Zem Shrine Temple, Erie; Elks Lodge 219, Meadville.  He also was a member and past president of Meadville Kiwanis Club.

Survivors, in addition to his widow, include a daughter, Pamela Deissler of Reading; a son, Scott Deissler at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil (Ada) Deissler of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Reitze of Normal, IL; and one uncle, one niece and one nephew.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
