John Ernst

John Ernst, 74, died early Wednesday morning at Meadville City Hospital after a lingering illness.

He was a well known and prosperous farmer of Union Township and had resided on the same farm his entire life.  He was a faithful member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, of Union Hill, and formerly belonged to Crawford Lodge IOOF, over a period of 30 years.

Besides his widow, Anna L., he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elmer Stein of Union Township; and four sons, Charles, Albert and Wallace, all of Meadville and Theodore of Union Township; a sister, Mrs. Emma Kebert of Union Township and seven grandsons.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Kebort Cemetery, Union Township.
