Joseph Anthony Smith ‘Joe Smith’ or ‘ChocolateJoe’ for those who knew him, 37 of Stoneboro passed June 30th of a medical emergency at Allegheny General Hospital after a short stay.
Joe had many hobbies including making space paintings, fishing, traveling with his wife and daughter to make sure they lived a full and happy life, and trying the next hyperfixation he found interest in. He was close to music, always finding new songs or bands and sometimes ruining songs by switching the words. While Joe would tell you he hated animals while his wife loves them he never made her feel bad about bringing the next foster dog home or a cat she just had to save. There are many photos that he sent cuddling them or playing with them (even if he insisted he hated them).
Joe's favorite moments were spent with friends at Garefest, Ethan's garage, going fishing with Regis at the next best fishing spot they found, and traveling across the country with his wife and daughter seeing some amazing views. Although seeing the top of mountains or the beautiful oceans in true Joe form he never did anything normal like proposing in a dirty kitchen rather than at Glacier national park or Acadia national park.
A proud father, loving husband, and an amazing son Joe is survived by his wife, Glayna Reynolds, daughter Zoey Reynolds, parents Paulla (John) collar, inlaws Marvin (Dee) Reynolds, siblings Brian (Kim) Collar, and Shayna Reynolds, his Yellow Creek family, and many many friends who were brothers and sisters to Joe.
Joe was the kind of guy to drop what he was doing to help anyone, which included after he passed by being an organ donor. The family is asking that donations be made to New Lease on Life in Struthers, Ohio in honor of Joe. This is the rescue Joe and Glayna fostered 54 dogs and a litter of kittens over the years.
A memorial service will be held for Joe at his favorite place in the world, his family's (in-laws) pond on Saturday July 26th 2pm for a cookout and time at his favorite fishing spot.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin St. Stoneboro, PA 16153.
