Joseph Wendall Kirk

Joseph Wendall Kirk, 93, formerly of Cochranton and currently a resident of Meadville Health and Rehabilitation Center, died there, Monday, March 24, 1997 following a period of declining health.

He was born April 14, 1903 in West Sunbury, Butler, Co., PA, a son of the late John and Anna Benninger Kirk.  He married Mary Gerstner June 8, 1936.  She died June 28, 1971.

Mr. Kirk retired as a hammersmith from Chicago-Pneumatic Tool after 40 years of service.  He was a member of Chicago-Pneumatic Quarter Century Club and member and past officer of International Assn. of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.  He was a member of St. Agatha's Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Schreck of Meadville and Mrs. Martha Spindler of Cochranton; one sister, Josephine McLaughlin of New Castle; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Gerald Kirk; two sisters, Cecelia Fleeger and Elener Skunbor; and one brother, Albert Kirk.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
