Josephine McCain Casper Higley

Josephine McCain Casper Higley, age 62, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday morning March 11, 2026, in Meadville Medical TCU Grove Street.

She was born in Meadville on March 7, 1964, the daughter of Glenn and Joan (Smith) McCain.

She was a 1982 graduate of Maplewood High School and worked as a waitress and cook at local restaurants for many years.

She was a member of the Epiphany of the Lord Parish, St. Agatha’s Church and enjoyed gardening, reading, and crafting.

She is survived by her mother, Joan McCain of Meadville; three sons: Joe Casper and his wife Elise of Meadville, Alan Casper and his significant other Heather Scherrbaum of Meadville, and Mark Casper and his wife Beth of Guys Mills; 4 sisters: Christine Partin and her husband Daniel of Meadville, Cindy Finkbeiner of Guys Mills, Beverly McMann of Dayton, OH, and Trina McClure of Meadville; and six grandchildren: Alexa Casper, Jayden Casper, Autumn Casper, Jace Casper, Harlee Hazelhurst, and Gauge Papsun.

She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, David and Dan McCain.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY INC., 581 CHESTNUT ST., Meadville, from 5:00 PM until the time of service. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Father Jeff Lucas officiating.
