Joyce Irene Weisman

Joyce Irene Weisman, 52, of Meadville, a former nurse at Meadville Medical Center, died Monday, January 10, 1994, at Meadville Medical Center following an extended illness.

She was born March 9, 1941, in Meadville, a daughter of Frederick and Grace Snyder Weisman.

She was a graduate of Meadville Schools and of San Deigo State University.

She was first employed in Washinton DC, by Sen. Robert Dole, when he was a first-term Kansas congressman.  She received her diploma as a licensed practical nurse from the Crawford County Vocational Technical School and her associate degree in nursing from Gannon University.

She was a nurse at Wesbury United Methodist Community for nine years.  She was a nurse at Meadville Medical Center for 12 years.

She was a member of the Licensed Practical Nurse Assn. of Pennsylvania, a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and former choir member.  She was a former member of the Meadville Chorale.

Survivors include her sister, Nancy L. Williams of Meadville and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
