Judith “Judy” L. S. Twilla, 78, of Carlton, passed away at AHN Grove City. Judy was born to Robert and Margaret Smith on May 24, 1946. After graduating from Lakeview High School, Judy attended Edinboro University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. Judy went on to serve as the Director of Children’s Christian School in Meadville for many years.

Judy married the love of her life, Carl Twilla, and loved him endlessly. He survives at home.

Judy was a homebody, and loved enjoying the things she had. She was an avid reader, collecting and reading many books over the years. Judy loved animals and held a special place in her heart for her special Jack Russell, Cooper. Judy also enjoyed crocheting beautiful pieces whenever she could put her books down. Judy loved her grandchildren dearly, even volunteering at Oakview Elementary when she could. Most importantly Judy loved her family with all of her heart.

Judy is survived by her husband and his children, Mike (Audrey) Twilla, Dan (Julie) Twilla, Bret Twilla, and Alicia Twilla. Judy is survived by her daughter-in-law Tammy Trubic. She is survived by her grandchildren; Will, Breanna, Emily, Tyler, and Caroline. Judy is survived by her siblings; Steve Smith, Shirley Newberry, and Janet (Bill) Hovis. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Jill (Dave) Musser, Julie (Shawn) Allhouse, Michael (Hazel) Hovis, Bill Hovis, and Steve (Jamie) Hovis.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, her son; Jason Stewart Trubic who she loved immensely, brother-in-law; Dennis W. Newberry, and her sister-in-law, Donna H. Smith. 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin St. Stoneboro, PA 16153. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on May 1, 2025 at 11 am at the funeral home.

Interment will occur at New Lebanon Cemetery.
