Katherine Mackanic Chisholm, 77, a long-time former Meadville resident and a resident of Berea, OH, and Clearwater Beach, FL, died at Southwest General Hospital, Berea, Wednesday, June 26, 1985, after a lengthy illness.
She was born at McKeesport November 28, 1907, a daughter of John and Anna Marnivick Mackanic. She married Robert J. Chisholm, who died in 1965.
She was a school teacher for 35 years, teaching at McKean and Linesville, and retiring from Moon Township schools near Coraopolis. She was a graduate of Allegheny College. Until her illness, she was active with her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, and was a member of the Pan-Hellenic Council of Tampa-St. Petersburg, FL.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Chisholm, Laurelville; three daughters, Nancy Kaesgen of Berea, Kathleen Angello of Rocky Mount, NC and Judith Schosky of Beaver; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Kiebort and Ann Mackanic and a son, John Chisholm.
Services were held with the Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in St. Birgid's Cemetery.
