Kenneth P. Abbott, Sr.

Kenneth P. Abbott, Sr., 56, of 457 Pine St., died Saturday, June 26, 1971, at Hamot Hospital, Erie, following an illness of a month.

He was born at Geneva March 19, 1915, a son of Audley and Tacy Roseanna Pears Abbott.  He first was married to Ruth Whippo.  He subsequently married Ethel Cole February 17, 1971.  He was employed for 35 years as a chain machine mechanic at Talon Plant 7.  He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, Meadville, Elks Lodge and Local 110, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Lois) Bryan of Erie; two sons, Kenneth Jr. and Thomas R., both of Meadville; a step-daughter, Mrs. Larry (Christine) Gregg of Meadville; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Ethel) Flickinger of Meadville and Mrs. George (Hazel) Hutchinson of Tarentum; two brothers, Elmer of Springboro and Marshall of Orlando, FL.; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home where the Elks Lodge will hold a memorial service tonight at 7:30, and where services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Arthur M. Crawford, pastor of Stone United Methodist Church will officiate.

Interment will be in Geneva Cemetery.
