Ladd V. Lingo

Ladd V. Lingo, 69, of Meadville went home to be with our Lord Friday, April 21, 2006 at the Meadville Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was born in Meadville May 25, 1936 a son of Dewey and Julia Clark Lingo.  He married Janet Stromyer Braun June 8, 1957 and she survives.

He was a devoted husband, loving father and dedicated in service to the community.  He graduated from Randolph High School in 1952 and was employed at Oakland Beach Resort and Kessler Diner.  He then graduated from George Washington University in 1968 and served as an administrator at Wesbury United Methodist Community for 45 years.

He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and he enjoyed bowling, fishing and bus tours.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Janet of 48 years, include: two daughters, Sheree Griggs and her husband Jim of Westford, PA and Deborah Williams and her husband Michael of Meadville; four grandchildren, Matthew Williams and Lisa, David and Daniel Griggs and one sister, Mary Lou Johnston and her husband Howard of Stoneboro.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Fern Cox and one infant brother, Kenneth D. Lingo.

Calling hours will be Monday from 1-4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. William L. Brown, Associate Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church and the Rev. Gerald H. Murphy, retired United Methodist Clergyman, officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
