Larry J. Kantorczyk

Lawrence (Larry) J. Kantorczyk, 61 of Saegertown, died Friday, January 21, 2005 at his residence following an 8-month illness.

He was born May 4, 1943 in Glassport, a son of the late Ernest and Helen Stanczak Kantorczyk, Sr.  He married Dorothy Booth November 5, 1966.

He was a 1961 graduate of Glassport High School, McKeesport.  He worked as a life insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1997.  He subsequently worked at K-Mart in Meadville for 5 years and at Home Depot in Meadville for 6 months.  He enjoyed gardening and his bird dog, “King”.

He was a member of St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, Saegertown.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of 38 years, include a daughter, Kelly Maxwell of Braddock and a son, Craig Kantorczyk and his wife Leslie of Palmyra; 5 grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Kantorczyk of McKeesport; 3 brothers, Ernest (Sonny) Kantorczyk and his wife Judy of Glassport; Stanley (Babe) Kantorczyk and his wife Betty of Port Vue; and Fr. Adam Szufel of Warner Robbins, GA; and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Kantorczyk.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Prayer Service at 8:45 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, Renner St., Saegertown with the Rev. Richard Allen as Celebrant.
