Larry Eugene Mohney, 87, passed away on October 5, 2026 surrounded by family. He was born in Stoneboro, PA on September 6, 1939 to parents D. Lee Mohney and Ruth E. Freligh Mohney.

Larry was a member of the Stoneboro Presbyterian Church and he served in the U.S. Army during peacetime. He was a carpenter by trade and worked on many different projects over his working years including: building ponds, drilling oil wells, and building houses. He also taught Building Trades and Maintenance at Crawford County Vo-tech for many years. He loved to tinker in his shop and loved being in the woods and feeding fish in his pond. One project he was proud of was restoring an 1890s Log Cabin General Store in Luna, New Mexico. In 1971 he won “Champion Hog Carcass” and received a trophy.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Wigman Mohney; his parents, D. Lee and Ruth; and a sister, Elaine Mohney.

He is survived by two children, Susan (Randy) Patton, of Sharon, PA, and Larry “Gene” (Pam) Mohney Jr., of Stoneboro; one grandson, Zildjian Patton; a brother, Duane Mohney; a sister, Sherry Reynolds; companion Marianne Collins and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home and Crematory, 99 Franklin St. Stoneboro. There will be no public services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Future Farmers of America, Wilmington Area High School, c/o Mr. Hathaway, 350 Wood Street, New Wilmington, PA 16142
