Lawrence S. “Larry” Nageotte, age 83, of Meadville, passed away Saturday morning November 22, 2025, in Edinboro Manor.
Larry was born in Meadville on December 30, 1941, the son of Carl L. and Virginia (Potts) Nageotte.
He was a graduate of Meadville High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959-1962, stationed in Germany.
On February 13, 1965, Larry married the former Barbara Woolstrum, she survives.
He was employed at Meadville Telephone Company and retired after 40 years in 2003 and in his early years he worked at Meadville Master Antenna and Talon Incorporated.
Larry was an active and dedicated member of his community, involved with organizations such as the Meadville Jaycees, the Meadville Sertoma Club, Vernon Central House Company, and he also served as president of the Meadville 7th and 8th Grade Football Program. He volunteered faithfully with the Meadville football teams, running the clock on game days, coaching Little Gridders, and supporting the program in any way he could.
He loved to sing and shared his voice with Yesterday’s Sound Barbershoppers as well as in his church choir. Larry was an avid reader, enjoyed classic movies, and appreciated all kinds of music. He looked forward to weekly pinochle games with lifelong friends; he played in several golf leagues and was a proud Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.
An outdoorsman at heart, he enjoyed trout fishing each spring, ocean fishing for blues in the fall, and spending time bowling.
Above all, Larry was incredibly proud of his sons, Larry and Mike, and treasured every moment he spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two children, Larry Nageotte Jr. and his wife Lisa of Davidson, NC, Michael Nageotte and his wife Jeunesse of Meadville; seven grandchildren; Caroline, Emily, Kacey and his wife Faith, Payton and his wife Aubrey, Madison and her husband Kory, Abigail, and Lily; three great grandchild, Lyndee, Gracie, and Katie; a sister-in-law, Denise of Meadville; three brother-in-law’s, Wayne Roschi of TN, Bob Woolstrum and his wife Nancy of Meadville, and John Hank and his wife Della of Corona, CA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sue Roschi, a brother Jerry Nageotte, sister-in-law, Joni Fitzsimmons, and his beloved dog, Daisy, who was by his side for 18 years.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 581 CHESTNUT STREET, MEADVILLE, with Rev. Tim Jordan, officiating. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 1:00-4:00 PM. Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery where Meadville VFW Post #2006 will render military honors at the conclusion of the service. A luncheon will follow at 12:00 PM at Calvary Baptist church on Randolph Street.
