Leroy W. Gehrt

LeRoy W. Gehrt, 67, of Meadville, died Sunday, February 1, 1987, at Meadville Medical Center following a sudden illness.

He was born in Plumouth, NE, October 29, 1919, a son of Carl and Freda Becker Gehrt.  He married Shirley Beatty October 20, 1942.

Mr. Gehrt was retired from Talon, Inc. where he had worked as a foreman in the maintenance department.  He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.  He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Atlantic.  He was a member of Meadville Masonic Lodge 408, Erie Consistory, Zem Zem Shrine Temple, Erie, Meadville Elks Lodge 219 and Meadville Country Club.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Dean of Meadville; two sons, William R. Gehrt of Venango; Robert C. Gehrt of Omaha, NE; a brother, Harlan Gehrt of Seattle; seven grandchildren and two nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
