Lester L. Armstrong

Lester Lee Armstrong was born on July 6, 1933 in Polk, Pennsylvania to the late Harold and Helen (Kilgore) Armstrong. He died on July 21, 2025, he was 92.

He is survived by a son, Kenneth Armstrong, and his daughters, Brenda Bonanno, of Fredonia, Vicki Manners, of New Bethlehem, PA, Mary Campbell, of Dallas, TX and Bertha Wisensee, of WV.

Lester was converted in November 1962 and called to preach the Gospel at the same time. He pastored Holiness churches in various places in the United States. He pastored five years in Franklin, PA and two and half years at Immanuel Missionary Church in Springrove, PA. He pastored at the Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Key West, FL and another Holiness Church in Live Oak, FL, as well as one in Erin, TN. He also spent time as a pastor in Shoals, Indiana at Singing Hill Immanuel Missionary Church.

Lester also served as a missionary to Belize, Central American for 17 full years and a total of 28 years.

Lester Armstrong was initially ordained by the National Association of Holiness Churches, but then spent most all of his ministry years licensed by the Immanuel Missionary Church, where he served as a Council member, District Superintendent and also the Assistant General Superintendent.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, PA where family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 1:00-1:30PM at the funeral home, where also funeral service will follow at 1:30pm with Brother Paul Handle officiating.

Interment will take place at Center Cemetery.
