Lila Nichols (Butch) Holabaugh

Lila Nichols (Butch) Holabaugh, 96, of Meadville (Vernon Township), passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at her residence.

She was born at home January 13, 1926 in Spartansburg, PA, a daughter of Ralph W. and Clella Bacon Nichols.  She married Raymond A. Holabaugh August 24, 1946 and he preceded her in death July 6, 2015.

Lila was a 1943 graduate of Meadville High School.  A homemaker, she also was co-owner of Holabaugh Sales and Service Barn Equipment and Holabaugh Dairy Farm for over 60 years.  She was a member of Watson Run Church of God where she was a former secretary, treasurer, and choir member.  She was also a member of the Vernon Grange and life-member of Vernon Central Hose Company Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Quinn (Tom) of Meadville and Marguerite (Peggy) Packard (Raymond Jr.) of Meadville; a brother, Richard Nichols of Meadville; seven grandchildren, Wendy Blashak (Tim), Michael Quinn, Darla Brown (Charles Ingram), Maria Elkady (Joseph Cole), Marci Armel (Barry Hoover), Stephanie Breckenridge (Scott), and Matthew Packard; eight great-grandchildren; Katelyn Miller, Brittany Ingram, Amanda Ingram, Cyrus Brown, Olivia Packard, Jason Elkady, Isabella Elkady, and Justin Armel; six great-great-grandchildren; Mia Grace, Lila Mae, Colt, Wrenn, Jamarion, and Brinley; special people, Jack Hardenburg, Sandi Watkins, and Danny Haylett; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Marie Gillespie; four brothers, Pearl, Paul, Herman, and Clarence Nichols; and three sisters, Ida Pfeifer, Vera Lilliebridge, and Evelyn Hardenburg.

Calling hours will be Friday, September 30th from 4-7 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE.

The funeral service will be Saturday, October 1st at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home co-officiated by the Rev. Ken Hough, and the Rev. Sam Heagy.

Interment will be in Watson Run Cemetery.
