Lillian Newcombe Mitchell, 85, of Andover, MA, formerly of Meadville, a women's club member, died Monday, July 13, 1992, following a long illness.
She was born in Meadville, October 17, 1906, a daughter of Mark and Celia Nelson Newcombe. She married J. Dallas Mitchell. He preceded her in death.
A graduate of Allegheny College and the PA College of Music, she was active in Mu Phi Epsilon, a national music society. She also was involved in the Meadville Women's Club and a 50-year member of Stone United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. P. Fred (Dorothy) Gridley of Windham, NH; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
