Lois N. Carpenter, 78, of Meadville, died Friday, April 28, 2000 at the Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.
She was born in Titusville, July 2, 1921, a daughter of Mildred Archer Reisinger. She married Glenn R. Carpenter August 22, 1942. He survives.
She was a graduate of Titusville High School. She was one of the original crossing guards, working at the corner of Grant and Washington Street or the corner of Baldwin Street and Park Avenue. She was also an avid camper and enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Demaree Vanderzille of Sodus, NY and Helen Jean Smith of Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren, Brian Martin, Shelly Williams, Teri Sample, J. J. Marullo and Sean Smith; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Reisinger and a sister, Helen Reisinger.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in East Troy Center Cemetery.
