Mrs. Lola Pearl Hughes, 79, wife of Green B. Hughes, of Meadville, died Thursday, October 24, 1963, at City Hospital after a long illness.

Mrs. Hughes was born at Edwardsville, Cleburne County, AL, March 28, 1884, a daughter of John W. and Mary Roberts Grubbs.  She married Mr. Hughes December 24, 1906.  She was a charter member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service at Valley View, TX, and a member of Stone Methodist Church.

Surviving, besides her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Grace) Mangan and Mrs. Jewel Thrower, both of Meadville; a son, John W. of Pittsburgh; three sisters, Miss Cora Grubbs and Mrs. Lillie Campbell, both of Hefflin, AL; and Mrs. Jessie Edwards of Kress, TX; a brother, Emmett Grubbs of Hefflin; three grandchildren, Charles R. Edson of Amsterdam, Holland, and John and James Hughes, both of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
