Lorie L. Phillips

June 4, 1968 — September 14, 2011

In the morning hours of September 14, 2011, the gates of heaven swung open as angels sang and trumpets played.  Lorie L. Phillips, 43, of Meadville died unexpectedly, but not to the surprise of her Lord and Savior, Heaven just needed another angel.

Lorie L. Phillips was born June 4, 1968 in Sun Valley, CA a daughter of William and Sandra Piatt Klasges.

Mrs. Phillips was a graduate of Chatsworth High School in the San Fernando Valley, CA and received her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from the Crawford County Vo-Tech.  She excelled at nursing and was a compassionate care-giver.  She loved her church and was a member of New Beginnings Church of God.  She also loved gardening and landscaping and absolutely adored her two pugs, Zeus and Lola.

Survivors, include: two daughters, Priscilla Araujo and her husband Octavio of Sanford, NC and Courtney Phillips of Meadville; a granddaughter, Gianna Araujo; her mother, Sandra Klasges of Los Angeles, CA; a nephew, Nick Phillips of Niles, OH; a niece, Brittani Watson of Los Angeles, CA and her former husband of 21 years, Anthony J. Phillips of Meadville.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Klasges and a sister Vickie Klasges.

Calling hours will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Harold Ferraro, Pastor of New Beginnings Church of God, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
