Lucille Bertram Waid

Lucille B. Waid, 90, of Meadville, died Tuesday, February 1, 2000 at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.

She was born February 15, 1909 in Portland, Chautauqua County, NY, a daughter of the late Francis C. and Donna Navy Bertram.  She married Leland V. Waid, October 24, 1936 and he preceded her in death October 6, 1966.

She was a 1930 graduate of Westfield, NY High School.  In addition to being a homemaker, she had been employed in the Crawford County Schools office under superintendents P. D. Blair and C. Ford Adamson.  She was a former member of Golden Crown Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Meadville Woman's Club and Meadville Child Study Club.  She especially enjoyed needlework, playing the piano, making crafts and bingo games.

She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, its Marriott Class and former Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include, two daughters, Suzanne Waid of Meadville and Barbara Waid of Polk; one son, Robert W. Waid (Janet) of Meadville; three grandsons, Robert S. Waid of Meadville, Todd A. Waid (Wendi) of Meadville and Ryan P. Waid of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Grace Hilder and Gertrude Miller, both of California, MD; one brother, John C. Bertram of Mayville, NY and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Smith and Helen Boss.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
