Obituary

Margaret M. “Peg” Guthrie, 66, of Worth Twp., Jackson Center, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family following a strong battle with a brief illness.

She was born on May 12, 1959 in Grove City to the late Robert and Sadie E. (Hedglin) Mathieson.

Peg married the love of her life, Randy R. Guthrie, Sr. on October 22, 1977, he survives at home.

She enjoyed shopping and going to flea markets, she also enjoyed time spent watching the birds at her feeders. Peg's greatest joy in life came from the times she spent surrounded by those she loved. She loved the holidays, especially enjoyed reminding her family that her birthday was coming, though she never wanted gifts, she wanted to make sure that they didn't forget her day! She was a homemaker that took great pride in raising her family. She loved her family with the all she had and would do anything for them. She will be missed tremendously by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, Peg is survived by her children: Corey (Carla) Guthrie, Ryan (Kala) Guthrie, Amanda (Todd) Miller, Crystal (Mike) Hilla, all of Jackson Center and Randy (Candise) Guthrie, Jr., of Transfer; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Robert Mathieson, Ralph Oakes, a half-brother, Robert "Dink" Mathieson and a special sister-in-law, Linda Cogswell, who spent the last several weeks helping to take care of Peg.

Proceeded in death by her parents, Robert and Sadie (Hedglin) Mathieson, two brothers, Larry and Lester Paul Sr., a sister, Cheryl McCoy and a granddaughter, Samantha Coast.

The family would like to specially thank Amedisys, especially Tammy and Danielle, your care and compassion did not go unnoticed.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 1PM - 3PM.
