Margaretta Rathbun

Mrs. Margaretta Rathbun, 83, formerly of New York City and a resident of Meadville since 1965, widow of Harry L. Rathbun, died at home Friday, February 12, 1982, following a sudden illness.

She was born at Chicago, November 16, 1898, a daughter of Otto and Margaret Miller Kurz.  She married Rathbun December 26, 1920.  He died June 14, 1978.

In her early life, she was employed as a secretary at a telephone company and a bank.

Mrs. Rathbun was a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Harry R. Rathbun of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Edna Hertel of Sun City, AZ; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
