Marian E. Brooks

Marian E. Brooks, 81, of Meadville, died Thursday, February 24, 2000 at the residence of her son following a sudden illness.

She was born February 26, 1918 in Meadville, a daughter of the late William E. and Edna I. Heffner Huson.  She married Preston H. Brooks March 25, 1940 and he preceded her in death May 13, 1981.

She was a graduate of Meadville High School.  She worked for 20 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at various nursing homes and the former Spencer Hospital.  She was a member of the Vernon Township VFD, Rebekah Lodge IOOF #60 and Meadville Eagles Club #429.  She loved her dogs and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include a son, William H. Brooks (Pauline) of Linesville; three daughters, Beth Huber of Cape May Courthouse, NJ, Phyllis Feltenberger of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Stephen (Daine) Singer of Meadville; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
