Mark J. Dworshak

Mark J. Dworshak, 94, formerly of Guys Mills and a current resident of the Crawford County Care Center, died there Tuesday, January 13, 2015.

He was born October 3, 1920 in Rock Creek, Ohio, a son of George and Julia Baumgartner Dworshak.  He married Betty Louise Kinnear and she preceded him in death April 22, 2007.

Mark was a graduate of Meadville High School and was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.  He worked at McCrosky Tool of Meadville, Mercer Spring and Wire, and retired as a yardman from Conrail Railroad.

Mark enjoyed farming in his spare time, going to the family camp near Warren, and hunting and fishing.

Survivors include a grandson, Mark P. Benson of Guys Mills; a sister, Shirley Wood of Saegertown; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Lynn Benson; three sisters, Ann Foster, Beatrice Shreck, and Julia Metzler; and two brothers, George and Frank Dworshak.

A private family funeral and committal service will be at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with the Rev. Temple Jarrell, Pastor of New Beginnings Church of God, officiating.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
