Mary Elizabeth Hites

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Bessie) Hites, 96, of Conneaut Lake, died at City Hospital, Wednesday, October 21, 1970, after being in failing health for seven years. Mrs. Hites was born October 14, 1874, at Columbia Farms, Venango County, a daughter of Albert K. and Mary Ann Townley Smith. She was the widow of the Rev. John W. C. Hites. She was a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church. In her early years, she taught music in the Richmond Township area. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Sideny (Laura) Bean of Youngstown; a brother, Harold Smith of Chautauqua, NY, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ora Horace of Canton, OH and several nieces and nephews.
