Mary Jo Malterer, 76, of Meadville, died Sunday, April 22, 1990, at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Uhrichsville, OH, December 31, 1913, a daughter of James B. and Martha Grussey Mears. She married Clyde Malterer. He preceded her in death in 1973.
He had been employed by American Viscose.
She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and was a former Reebecca member.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Marjorie) Russell of Tampa, FL; a son, John Malterer of Yorkville, OH; two sisters, Anita Michaels of Port Charlotte, FL and Patricia Rounds of Meadville; two brothers, Samuel Mears of Guys Mills and Stanley Mears of Meadville; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Hudson and two brothers, George and James Crawford Mears.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
