Mary Louise Hunter

Mary Louise Hunter, 81, of Meadville, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at her residence.

She was born in Erie County April 11, 1926, a daughter of the late Sidney and Florence Wermeling Foster.  She married Robert B. Hunter September 30, 1950 and he preceded her in death February 6, 1998.

She was a 1949 graduate of Allegheny College where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English.  She was a homemaker and had worked at the Meadville Tribune and at her husband’s business, Hunter’s News.  Mrs. Hunter was a former board member of Hillside Home and volunteer and former board member of the Meadville YMCA.  She enjoyed traveling and especially loved her family.

Survivors include 5 children, Stephen F. Hunter of Orlando, FL; Kathleen Hunter and her husband Robert Harris of Mechanicsville, VA; Thomas P. Hunter and his wife Katherine of Fredericksburg, VA; David M. Hunter and his wife Kristin of Salem, VA; and Dr. Barbara Ann Hunter of Belleville, IL; a sister, Jean Hill and her husband Clayton of Muskegon, MI; 11 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Foster.

Following cremation, a private graveside service and inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Meadville Public Library, 848 N. Main St., Meadville, PA 16335.
